Hollywood of the Southwest

Some may question whether Las Vegas is becoming the Hollywood of the Southwest. People here, like my shuttle driver Mitch, say Vegas has always been known for drawing the big names.

And while us normal folk flock to the city for a variety of reasons, it’s easy to see why celebrities feel at home here. It’s luxury all the way, baby.

Over delectable banana sushi rolls and tempura crab at Yellowtail in the Bellagio tonight, a nightclub rep dished on celebs that make all-expenses-paid appearances at Vegas hotspots, ones, like singer Usher, who drop in unexpectedly for the star treatment, and others, like a certain reality TV star, who plan entire parties to celebrate themselves.

And I thought I was getting the star treatment sitting front row at a Donny and Marie revue at the Flamingo, who put on a fantastically fun show.

Oh, hi there Donny and Marie.

Celebs like the Osmonds, Cher and Jerry Seinfeld, who have set up shop at Caesars Palace’s Colosseum, no doubt delight in this adult playground and the unquenchable luxury thrown at them.

The star zone.

My first night in Vegas was capped off by a VIP tour of Pure Nightclub, a garden of earthly desires for celebs. Whether its Paris Hilton stripping down in the Pussycat Dolls lounge, Britney Spears staking claim to a $5,000 booth in the White Room, or just some high roller who’s struck it rich enough for the $375 bottle service, those with money find endless options for indulgence without recourse in Sin City.
